Collection: Skate Ski Boots

Skate boots are the stiffest boots in cross-country skiing, and the difference is immediately obvious the first time you put one on.

A skate boot has a high, rigid cuff and a stiff torsional sole, because skating loads the ski sideways and the ankle has to resist that load rather than roll with it. The same stiffness that makes them fast makes them poor for classic technique, where the heel needs to lift freely.

If you are not sure which you need: skate skiing happens on wide groomed pistes, not in set tracks, and the motion looks like ice skating. If you ski in tracks, you want classic boots instead — or a combi boot to cover both.
