Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Nordics Value collects when you visit or buy from nordicsvalue.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is:

We are established in Lithuania, so this policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

When you place an order: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number, the items you bought, and the amount paid. Card details are entered directly into our payment provider's systems and are never stored by us.

When you contact us: your email address and whatever you write in your message.

When you subscribe to our emails: your email address, and whether you opened or clicked the messages we send.

When you browse the site: your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you viewed, and how you arrived. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies — see the cookies section below.

We do not collect special categories of data such as health, religion or political opinions, and we do not ask for them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do pass it to the companies that make the shop work:

  • Shopify — hosts the store and processes orders on our behalf.
  • Stripe, PayPal and Shopify Payments — process card and wallet payments. They receive your payment and contact details directly; we receive only confirmation and the last four digits of the card.
  • FedEx — receives your name, address, telephone number and a description of the goods in order to deliver the parcel and clear it through customs.
  • Customs authorities in the country of destination, where the law requires it.
  • eBay and Etsy — if you bought from us on one of those platforms rather than on this site, they pass us the order details needed to ship it. Their own privacy terms govern the data you gave them.
  • Google — receives anonymised usage statistics through Google Analytics and Search Console, where you have accepted analytics cookies.
  • Our accountants and, where necessary, legal advisers.

Each of these acts either as our processor under a data processing agreement, or as a separate controller for its own purposes.

Sending data outside the European Union

Some of the companies above are based in the United States or process data there. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, by an adequacy decision such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or by another safeguard permitted under Chapter V of the GDPR.

If you are having an order delivered outside the EU, your address is necessarily sent to that country in order to deliver it.

How long we keep it

  • Order and invoice records: ten years, as required by Lithuanian accounting and tax law.
  • Customer account details: until you ask us to delete the account.
  • Email subscription: until you unsubscribe, and for a short period afterwards to make sure we do not email you again by mistake.
  • Support correspondence: two years after the conversation ends.
  • Analytics data: as configured in the analytics tool, normally no more than 14 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your data, where we are not required to keep it;
  • restrict or object to how we use it, including profiling;
  • send your data to you or to another provider in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent you gave earlier, which does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

Write to info@nordicsvalue.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to the Lithuanian supervisory authority — Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, L. Sapiegos g. 17, Vilnius, vdai.lrv.lt — or to the authority in your own EU country.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use:

  • Necessary cookies, which keep your basket and your session working. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies, which tell us anonymously which pages and products are being looked at.
  • Marketing cookies, where you have accepted them, to measure whether our advertising works.

You choose which optional categories to allow when you first arrive, and you can change that choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer. You can also block cookies in your browser, though parts of the shop will then stop working.

Customers in the United States

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Residents of California and other US states with comparable laws have the same practical rights set out above — access, correction and deletion — and can exercise them by writing to the same address.

Children

This shop is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection, payment data never touches our own systems, and access to order records is limited to the people who need it to pack and ship your parcel.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date below. Where the change is significant and you are on our mailing list, we will tell you by email.
