SNS Pilot Ski Boots

SNS Pilot is Salomon's performance system, and it is easy to identify: a Pilot boot has two metal bars under the toe instead of one.

The second bar is the whole point. It gives the binding a second attachment to the boot, which makes the ski far more controllable underfoot — noticeably so when skating, where the ski has to follow the foot precisely.

Compatibility, plainly: Pilot boots need Pilot bindings to use both bars. A single-bar SNS Profil boot will physically enter a Pilot binding but only the front bar engages, so you lose the reason for having Pilot at all. Check which you have before ordering.
